Domestic Violence: About the Relief

MegaCARE Missions services nearly three-dozen local and international women’s shelters and transitional housing programs for women and children coping with domestic violence-many of whom left their abusive situations with only the clothes on their backs.

Service projects are based on the most vital needs of each shelter and range from organizing food pantries, clothing closets and storage facilities to cleaning, painting, and gardening to assisting the staff with cooking, serving and working the front desk or switchboard. Also committed to addressing the intangible needs of the clients, we often provide gift bags, toiletries, manicures & pedicures and make overs for the women, and even a day of clowns, cake and games for the children.

Since 2010, MegaCARE has volunteered over 3,200 hours of service at women’s shelter/domestic violence related programs, donated over 6,000 pounds of clothing and accessories, repainted dozens of rooms and installed 2 computer learning centers.
